Ripple's CTO David Schwartz is working on something new for XRP. He's building custom monitoring tools for his personal XRPL server that he set up just a few days ago.
XRP Gets Better Network Monitoring
After shocking the XRP community by deploying his own XRPL server from his personal funds, Schwartz isn't stopping there. He's now developing a custom monitoring tool to track how well his setup is performing. The goal? Better visibility into the XRP network.
Back in early August, Schwartz said he wants to create monitoring tools that work with rrdtool and Cacti. It might sound like a side project, but it follows the same approach as his hardware build - keep things simple, strong, and built specifically for XRPL.

His server is running in a New York datacenter with some serious specs: Ubuntu operating system, 9950X processor, 256 GB RAM, and a 10 Gbps unmetered connection. The setup is already syncing and providing live connectivity to the XRP network.
XRP (Ripple) Infrastructure Gets Performance Boost
Schwartz says his server can handle 192 connections easily, maybe more. But he wants to keep plenty of room for when the network gets stressed or unstable - something that could affect XRP price action.
When someone suggested using Grafana for fancy dashboards, Schwartz shot it down. He's not interested in pretty charts - he wants to understand how the infrastructure works under pressure and keeps things reliable when markets get crazy.
XRP Benefits from Independent Development
Here's what makes this interesting: it's completely separate from Ripple. Schwartz is doing this on his own, but it still helps XRP's decentralization big time. With the CTO running infrastructure directly, the network gets better connectivity and real insights into how it performs outside the lab.
This hands-on approach could give XRP better network performance during high-volume trading when prices get volatile. It's grassroots development from someone who really knows the tech, and that usually means good things for XRP's long-term stability and growth.
