● Nvidia ($NVDA) just announced a massive partnership with South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT and the country's biggest companies to deploy more than 250,000 GPUs for AI infrastructure. This is one of the largest national GPU rollouts in Asia and marks South Korea's serious push toward AI independence and innovation.
● According to Evan's recent post, the Korean government is investing heavily in sovereign AI infrastructure with over 50,000 of Nvidia's latest GPUs. The goal? Build a domestic AI backbone strong enough to handle large-scale model training and cutting-edge research without relying on foreign compute.
● Samsung Electronics is building an AI factory with 50,000 GPUs to speed up its semiconductor work and digital transformation. SK Group is doing the same with another 50,000 Nvidia GPUs, creating Asia's first industrial AI cloud powered by Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs—focused on robotics and "physical AI" for factory automation.
● Hyundai Motor Group is also in the mix, working with Nvidia and the government to build an AI factory with 50,000 Blackwell GPUs for autonomous driving and smart manufacturing. NAVER Cloud is expanding too, adding over 60,000 GPUs to support Korean enterprises and AI developers.
