Satoshi Countdown
The website, gosatoshi.com, has simply appeared on the internet, with no one knowing who made it or why. There is simply a question on the website, asking, “Where in the world is Satoshi?” followed by a countdown that is set to reach zero on 14thMay.
The website does not give out any other information, but allows visitors to sign up for a newsletter subscription.
Oddly enough, if one does sign up, he or she is shown a thank you note with an address, Got Satoshi?; 3110 P2P Drive; Hutontherock, The Sea 132009. For the uninitiated, this is a reference to the famous fantasy book and movie adaption of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. When the story’s protagonist is accepted into the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the mailing address on the letter is,
Mr. H. Potter,
The Floor,
Hut-on-the-Rock
The Sea.
Whoever is behind the website is clearly a fan of Harry Potter and his magical adventures.
Will the Real Nakamoto Please Stand Up
Since the last decade, the mystery of the real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto has always been in question. No one is even sure if it is a man, or a team of fringe developers. Crag Wright, one of the main persons behind the development of Bitcoin has repeatedly claimed that he is the mysterious Bitcoin creator. However, the man has fallen in bad times as his repeated claims have not been backed by anything solid and has become the ridicule of the crypto community.
Bitcoin SV, his forked version of Bitcoin, has claimed that Craig Wright and BSV have nothing to do with the website, so that rules out another fame seeking action of Wright.
It has now been a decade since the mystery of Satoshi Nakamoto. Considering that the real person has not emerged and there is no reason to even now, it is highly unlikely this is a legitimate unveiling. The only plausible evidence will be the famous wallet associated with the Bitcoin creator being accessed, which lies untouched with 980,000 BTC in it.
