The US is losing its status as an economic leader in the eyes of the worldwide community, according to a survey conducted in Europe and Asia by professor Steve Hanke. Most of the respondents believe that China is now the leader of the world economy.
Also it's worth mentioning that some Asian countries, such as Japan and Korea, which are culturally and geographically closer to China, have the greatest confidence in the US leadership in the world economic arena. At the same time, citizens of European countries are overwhelmingly confident in the dominance of China.
